FEATURED ARTISTS OF THE MONTHI will be changing artists once a week to rotate it. Some gets featured next month if not this month. ![]() ![]() "For having a clean and neat style that really reflects the word "color love" perfectly." 1. When did your interest for art start? I don't remember, actually. I remember I loved to doodle little things ever since I was in elementary school! My first few drawings were probably inspired by picture book characters haha! And then later on I found some manga in our local library, and my style eventually morphed into what you see today. 2. What inspired you to progress when it came to art? Honestly, a few years ago I did not really have much desire to progress, but rather to just keep drawing what I enjoy. It was really just a year or two ago that I got pulled into this deviantART community, and after being stalking admiring the amazing artists here, I aspired to improve my techniques and composition, and my ability to portray what I wish to depict in my art. 3. What where the hardest thing for you when it came to your own art? I suppose I've had a hard time of approving my own art. A year or two ago, I became more serious in my pursuit of art. I've grown to be critical of whatever I draw, and particularly because it is I myself who drew it, I notice all the flaws. It is at times frustrating that I am unable to reproduce the image I have in my head with my limited skills and abilities as an artist. 4. What do you suggest young artist should do if they wish to become a great artist? The only way to improve is through practice. Don't stay in a little bubble of your own, and rather explore other types of art. Find inspiration in everyday life and experiences, and always be open to what is out there. Spend more time on your art and be patient, and through your own trial and error, research, and experimenting, discover what you are comfortable with. 5. What tools do you recommend for art use, and why? There isn't a particular tool I stick to, ever. Sometimes for lineart, I use the pen tool, the brush tool, and sometimes the watercolor as well, in Paint Tool SAI. Don't limit yourself to just a single brush with distinct settings, whether it be one you've created yourself or one you've obtained from others. Don't hesitate to experiment with the mediums you have at hand! 6. What sort of impact the the internet have for your art? Uhm, I am not sure haha! But hopefully, I've managed to inspire some artists out there (: 7. Name your 2 favorite painters or artists in who inspired you. One artist I absolutely admire: Pascal Campion. His website can be found here ! And there's a video of him talking about his art that I felt was really inspiring (to which I do not have access to right now, but feel free to ask me!). His art is very optimistic, and though the optimism may not appeal to everyone, I respect his ability to portray the simple joys of everyday life through such cohesive composition and colors, as well as that natural flow in his style. Another is Jeremy Fenske; his website is here! His works are absolutely phenomenal as well! Go and check him out, you will not regret! |
